The Lancia Thema was released officialy at the Geneva Auto Show and as expected, it’s a Chrysler 300 that was renamed Thema and will be built in Europe by Lancia. The thing that sets them apart is the headlights which use LEDs, plus a grille that is prominent.
Some of the gadgets offered on the Lancia Thema are Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Detection, rear view camera and Cross Path Detection.
There will be two engines available on the Lancia Thema. One of them will be a 3.0L V6 diesel while the second will be a 3.6L V6 petrol. Both of them will come with the automatic gearbox with 8 speeds, allowing the car to go from 0 to 60 mph in just 7.2 seconds, with a maximum speed of 143 mph (230 km/h).
The 2012 Mercedes C-Class Coupe is a beautiful model that was just announced at the Auto Show from Geneva. Since this is a Mercedes, the interior has the quality materials that you can expect from them, as well as a steering wheel with a flat bottom, an aluminum trim and a comand display of 5.8 inches. You can also choose to have a GPS installed, an audio system from Harman/Kardon, a wood trim and front seats that are heated.
The diesel engines of the 2012 Mercedes Benz C-Class Coupe include a 2.1L diesel for the C220 CDI (231 km/h and 0-60 mph in 8.1 seconds) and a 2.1L with 201HP for the C250 CDI (240 km/h and 0 to 60 mph in 7 seconds).
The petrol engines are a 1.8L for the C220 which has 154HP (225 km/h maximum speed and 0 to 60 mph in 8.9 seconds) and the same engine has 201 HP for the C250 model (same speed but 0 to 60 mph in 7.2 seconds). The best engine of the C-Class coupe car is a 3.5L V6 which is installed on the C350. This engine has 302HP, a maximum speed of 155 mph (250km/h) and a sprint time of 6 seconds, from 0 to 60 mph.
The 2012 Mercedes C-Class Coupe will be found in the showrooms starting from June 2011.
The Fiat Freemont is an MPV which is designed together with Chrysler and it’s based on the Dodge Journey model, though it is a bit modified, having a front fascia that is a bit more aggressive, with wheel arches that are prominent and LED taillights. The car was a bit modified for the European market, making it more driveable, by retuning the suspension of the car and the steering.
The Fiat Freemont is an MPV with a lot of room inside, a wheelbase of 2890mm, which makes it the largest of their class. The capacity of the model stands at 1461 liters. All models have 7 seats, climate control with triple zone and a touchscreen system that provides entertainment.
The engine on the Freemont is a 2.0L diesel with 140HP or 170HP. There will also be a 4×4 model which will have either the 170HP engine or a 276HP engine from Chrysler. The Fiat Freemont will be launched in the summer of 2011 in Europe.
The Bertone Jaguar B99 is a concept car which was shown at the Geneva Auto Show these days and it’s based on the XJ model and the Ford Interceptor concept car. The body of the B99 is made out of aluminum and it’s 4.5m long, with a width of 1.95m and a height of 1.35m.
The Bertone Jaguar B99 is an electrical vehicle that uses a lithium-ion battery and two electric motors, with a total power of 570HP. When the batteries are drained, there is a thermal engine which recharges them by acting as a generator. The total range of the electric mode is 62 miles (100km), but it can reach up to 435 miles (700km) when the thermal engine is used as well.
The Audi RS3 Sportback was announced originally in November 2010 and now it was released at the Geneva Auto Show 2011. This is the most recent edition of the A3 series and it’s a high performance version which looks quite aggressive, thanks to the front fascia, the accents in matt aluminum and the grille of anthracite color. It also has side aerodynamic skirts and a rear dual exhaust system, as well as 19 inch alloy rims.
The interior of the Audi RS3 Sportback has sport seats made out of Nappa leather, a piano black trim, a steering wheel with a flat bottom, plus a info system which includes a lap timer.
The engine of the RS3 Sportback is a 2.5L and 5 cylinder that has 335HP, connected at a S-Tronic gearbox with 7 speeds. The sprint from 0 to 60 mph can be done in just 4.6 seconds.
The model most important for Volvo this year is the new version of the S60 sedan, which was displayed at the Motor Show from Geneva. Next, is the S60 R-Design, which will be shown at the Paris Motor Show. This version will come with a number of new accessories, like special options, a new body kit, plus a possible improvement of the handling performances and of the suspension.
Other details from Volvo USA include the specs of the new S60 model, which will come with a 3L engine with 300HP and a price tag of $37,700.
The 2011 model of the Toyota Highlander has been launched at the motor show from Moscow yesterday. This big crossover comes with a new appearance in the front of the car and in the fascias from the rear. The customers from Russia can choose only one engine, a V6 with 3.5L, with 273HP. The gearbox is an automatic with five speeds.
After the Mazda RX-8 had the same fate, now the Type-R Honda Civic has gotten the axe in Europe, as its 198HP engine with 2.0L doesn’t comply with the regulations concerning emissions. This is just a temporary setback, as the next version of the model will be fixed and it will comply with those regulations. Until then, this model will no longer be sold in European countries.
While the 2011 Ford Fiesta is being launched in the United States these days, Ford is considering the future already and its thinking about the 2012 model, which will come in Europe with a new look.
The rumors say that this model, which is sold as a hatchback in Europe, will come with a new front fascia, which will have LED lights, a redrawn front spoiler and a couple of extra options for the car’s interior.
What interests us though, is the fact that it will have new engines from the EcoBoost series. The regular Fiesta will come with a 1.0L engine with three cylinders and 90 HP, while the performance version will get a 1.6L gas engine with 180 HP.
