Fisker Recalls 239 Karma Cars To Replace Battery Packs
- With 0 comments
The Fisker Karma has an issue with the battery apparently and while initially it was thought that only 50 cars were affected by it, it seems that 239 will be recalled. It seems that it’s a problem with the hose clamps and how they are positioned on the Li-Ion batteries. There is a possibility that coolant might leak from them and it could provoke a short-circuit in the batteries and fire. The recalled cars will have their batteries replaced. Only 225 cars were shipped by December 21st, so there is a good chance that all the cars shipped so far will be part of this recall.
For those that don’t know, the Fisker Karma is a $96k hybrid that has a total of three motors, with an autonomy of 50 miles just with the batteries. The car has 657 HP.
